 [#ChooseGreatness]

A Challenge for Democrats & Republicans – “Victory is Winning for our Country”

Headline – Democrats Still Selective in all areas of Applause.

For example: when Trump proclaimed “Ladies and Gentlemen, the State of our Union is Strong”, the [Reaction from the Republicans] was applause (and a “USA, USA, USA” Chant. The [Reaction from the Democrats] was no standing or applause.  They all did their best Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer impressions and held it with a practiced stoicism that we have all learned to know and love.

There is a new opportunity in American politics if only we have the courage to seize it. “Tonight, I ask you to Choose Greatness”

Donald J. Trump (2019 SOTU Address)

“Trump is incompetent”

Chuck Schumer (February 5, 2019)

(Majority Leader of the Senate Mitch McConnell responded by suggesting that maybe “Chuck isn’t paying close enough attention.”)

SOTU 2019: A Presidential Moment

So with whom do you agree?  Is Donald Trump trying to make America Great or is he incompetent?

There are clearly strong differences in opinion and there’s even a chance to form your own unique opinion.  If any of that is true – share them here in the comments.  Some of the things people debate about lead to moments of #unity and shared understanding.  Yet it’s obvious there is still division.

Let’s set the table, using a counterexample of the #ChooseGreatness motto.

Lots of Congresspeople are saying and doing things that aren’t #Great.  It’s time to call that out.  So the operative hashtags will be #Great #NotGreat #ChooseGreatness #FakeNews #FactsMatter

It’s time to call out some of the #Great things about the State of the Union Address that Americans have just heard, too. I saw what looked like the #Unity everyone wants

There is a call on all Americans to #ChooseGreatness and the message is meant to create nation-wide resonation.  There is urgency on each topic that people care about.  There are considerations across both sides of the aisle as elected leaders try to do what’s in the best interest of their constituents.  The State of the Union will deliver the message about where we need to be.  To strive for a safer America, and to not get held up in the Wall Debate – we should be Choosing Greatness for the Immigration Debate instead.

The Democrats filed into the SOTU tonight very worried about prospects of holding the “paychucks” (or paychecks) of Federal Workers over what they deem to be “political games” of the President.  During the negotiations of the shutdown prevention act, they showed that what they really want to prevent is RIFs of their Federal Workers who had planned on being comfortably paid by Hillary Rodham Clinton’s prospective Presidency.  What they got instead is a 35-day shutdown which was precipitated by the inaction of politicians.

USMCA & The China Trade Deal

Can Trump get out of this series of ShutDowns & get some funding for the wall, and can we make a good deal with China?  As for the Democrats who ask “Didn’t Trump say Mexico would pay for the wall?” when dishing out debate talking points – I ask, who has paid for the way the world trades with the USA?  We have to strive for Unity in Government and also we have to get better trade deals on the table, with all countries.  There is progress being made on this front, that’s one thing that’s for sure.  Will 6 more years of Trump Executive Activities be enough to get it all done?  The Trump Administration is making every effort to create a lasting legacy, and having the right people at the table is everything.

A New Standard of Living for the 21st Century

“When you think about it, there’s nothing anywhere in the world that can compete with America.” .  . .  “A new standard of living for the 21st century” – a more prosperous middle class than ever before”

Standard of Living incorporates everything in one’s life, and is a product of the Democratic Institutions within which you live, as an American.  And for many who live their American Dream, the pieces in place are totally different than the “Majority of Americans”.  At any given time, there are a wide variety of circumstances within the lives of Americans.  For anyone to claim that there isn’t a need for a universal “bump” in this category, is asinine and short-sighted.

Trump would like his vision for “a new standard of living for the 21st century” to involve everything he was trying to incorporate into his rallies during the 2016 election.  For millions of Americans, what they saw, heard and felt in the President’s speeches created a tangible and real vision.  The agenda is shared between Trump and much of the American People is exceptional, albeit dividing times.  The drama brought on by the media will be no match to the actions of Trump, which will seek to find common ground and lower the cost of Healthcare, Living, and College.
